Job summary

Autoliv in India, Karnataka, seeks a Senior Engineer/Executive to manage plant machine maintenance with full ownership of performance KPIs. The role focuses on high equipment availability, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement across maintenance systems.

You will lead maintenance operations, root-cause analysis, PM planning, and TPM initiatives while ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 and safety standards. This role requires flexibility for shift work and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience for Diploma holders; 4–6 years for Engineering graduates.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and maintenance processes.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs (Omron, Mitsubishi) and hydraulics/pneumatics.

Responsibilities

• Manage shift-wise maintenance and operations for the assigned AMG.
• Diagnose equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Execute work scopes within defined timelines and due dates.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Drive TPM initiatives and IATF 16949 compliance.
• Maintain maintenance documentation and ensure compliance.

About The Role

We are looking for a skilled Senior Engineer / Executive to manage plant machine maintenance operations with complete ownership of performance KPIs. The role focuses on ensuring high equipment availability, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement across maintenance systems.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations

• Manage shift-wise maintenance and operational activities for the assigned AMG
• Diagnose equipment and machine breakdowns effectively to minimize downtime
• Execute assigned work scopes within defined timelines and due dates

Breakdown & Reliability Management

• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure daily machine breakdowns remain within defined AMG targets
• Monitor and improve MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)

Preventive Maintenance

• Own and drive preventive maintenance (PM) planning and execution for stitching machines
• Ensure consistent execution of maintenance schedules and standards

Process & Continuous Improvement

• Apply and promote 5S, Kaizen, and employee suggestion systems
• Support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives and IATF 16949 compliance
• Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes and machine performance

Compliance & Documentation

• Close LOP and TPM tags within agreed timelines
• Maintain maintenance management documentation and records
• Ensure adherence to industry and company standards

Performance Deliverables

• Maintain daily breakdowns within defined AMG targets
• Close LOP and TPM tags as per target dates
• Achieve defined MTTR and MTBF performance levels
• Ensure consistent performance of the assigned AMG

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronics / Mechatronics
• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Electronics)

Experience

• 6–8 years for Diploma holders
• 4–6 years for Engineering graduates

Functional Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems
• Hands‑on experience with PLCs (Omron, Mitsubishi)
• Exposure to hydraulics and pneumatics

Behavioral Skills

• Team player with strong individual ownership
