Medtronic's Cardiac Ablation Solutions division is searching for a dynamic Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hybrid role with a 4-day onsite requirement. The chosen candidate will be heavily involved in supporting the design work for a critical ablation program. The Cardiac Ablation Solutions team is engaged in developing next-generation medical technologies that save lives and improve the quality of life for millions of patients worldwide.

• Complex product design activities
• Perform concept development and prototyping
• Design/develop components manufactured via plastic injection molding, stamping, machining, extrusion, and related processes
• Create and interpret analyses to determine design suitability
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff
• Incorporate risk-based decision-making into the design process
• Apply Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies throughout the design and development process
• Ensure on-time completion of Design Control deliverables
• Maintain current knowledge of related technologies
• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure high-volume assembly feasibility
• Translate VoX feedback into product requirements
• Create and release engineering drawings, reports, and presentations
• Travel to supplier and manufacturing sites as required
• Present technical findings and project status to cross-functional teams and management
• Research, plan, design, verify, and validate electromechanical products and systems

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 4+ years of experience in mechanical product development or Master's degree with 2+ years of experience

Nice to Have

• DRM Greenbelt or above
• Experience in the medical device industry
• Experience in complex mechanical system design
• Experience with plastic injection molding in high-volume environments
• Extensive experience in 3D modeling, finite element analysis, and statistical design analysis
• Process and test method development and validation
• Formal training in Six Sigma methodologies
• Experience designing/developing catheters
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing
