Our client, a manufacturer of battery energy storage systems, is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Technician to join their expanding team. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical assembly work with responsibility for guiding a small workshop team. The successful candidate will have strong electrical and/or mechanical skills, a sharp eye for detail, and proven experience in delivering high-quality builds within a workshop environment.

• Lead day-to-day assembly of advanced energy systems in the workshop
• Carry out electrical panel assembly, wiring, and functional testing
• Supervise and support workshop technicians, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency
• Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation
• Undertake fabrication tasks such as cutting, fitting, drilling, and fixing components when required
• Maintain excellent workshop standards, including housekeeping, organisation, and safe working practices
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively
• Monitor progress to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification

• Experience in electrical panel assembly
• Background in fabrication or mechanical assembly an advantage
• Strong hands-on workshop skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring workshop staff desirable
• Organised, proactive, and committed to safe working practices

• Electrical or mechanical trade qualification preferred (equivalent experience also considered)
• Additional training or experience in fabrication, wiring, or assembly an advantage
