Job summary

Fota Island Resort in Cobh, Ireland seeks a Wedding & Events Sales Co-ordinator to join the Events Department. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in coordinating weddings and corporate events and a path to a career in Event Management or Sales.

Ideal candidates have third-level education in Event Management, Hospitality or Sales, fluent English, excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to upselling.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with opportunity to develop in Events/Sales.
• Knowledge of Opera Cloud is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all Weddings and Events administration standards are met as per current response time to enquiries and correspondence and maintain system for active follow-up
• Utilise Opera Cloud input/booking procedures as per current Standards.
• Coordination of corporate events including show rounds of hotel and meeting rooms
• Coordination of wedding arrangements with bride and groom, including initial hotel and grounds tour, reception plans, and proposals
• Site Inspections with clients when required
• Daily office administration duties in collaboration with the Events team
• Sales responsibilities include showing potential customers around the hotel, upselling every department, as well as looking for new business opportunities through cold calling, telephone sales, mail shots, and other methods.
• Build network in organisations that may directly or indirectly impact our business as appropriate
• Research market trends and generate new ideas for service and products that will maintain a Competitive and leading edge over our Competitive set
• Attend Sales and Marketing Meetings and any other internal meetings where required
• Flexible working hours as the business requires
