Job summary

Fota Island Resort in Cork, Ireland, is recruiting for a Wedding & Events Sales Co-ordinator to join the Events Department. This is an entry level position providing a great path into Event Management or Sales. Benefits include dining, accommodation, spa, and wellness perks.

You will engage in administration, client show_rounds, and upsell across hotel departments, while building a professional network and helping to develop new business opportunities for events and weddings.

Qualifications

• Third level education in Event Management, Hospitality or Sales desirable.
• Excellent business acumen and innovation to grow Events.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Ambition in the area of Sales and Events.
• Excellent customer service, professional etiquette, communication (oral and written), negotiation skills, corporate networking.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all Weddings and Events administration standards are met and maintain follow-up.
• Utilise Opera Cloud input/booking procedures as per standards.
• Coordinate corporate events including show rounds of hotel and meeting rooms.
• Coordinate wedding arrangements with bride and groom, tours, reception plans and proposals.
• Site inspections with clients when required.
• Daily office administration duties with Events team.
• Sales responsibilities include showing clients around the hotel, upselling, and developing new business opportunities via cold calls, mail shots and other methods.
• Build network in organisations impacting the business.
• Research market trends and generate new ideas for service and products to stay ahead of competitors.
• Attend Sales and Marketing meetings and other internal meetings as required.
• Flexible working hours as the business requires.

• Utilise Opera Cloud input/booking procedures as per current Standards.
• Coordination of corporate events including show rounds of hotel and meeting rooms
