Job summary

Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa in Tralee is seeking an experienced Hotel Events Operations Manager to lead weddings and events, ensuring each celebration runs smoothly from planning through breakdown. This role orchestrates hotel teams, vendors and clients while upholding service standards, budgets and safety.

You will coordinate with sales, banquet, culinary, housekeeping, engineering, AV and front desk, translate orders into staff actions, supervise layouts, decor and guest flow, and supervise

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel events or wedding coordination.
• Strong leadership and organisation.
• Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines.
• Knowledge of banquet service and event setup.
• Flexible evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead events/wedding operations from final planning meetings through setup, ceremony, reception, and breakdown.
• Coordinate with sales, banquet, culinary, housekeeping, engineering, audiovisual, front desk, and security teams.
• Act as the main operational contact for clients, couples, wedding planners, and vendors on event days.
• Translate event orders and floor plans into staff assignments, timelines and setup instructions.
• Oversee room layouts, decor placement, food and beverage service, audiovisual needs, and guest flow.
• Conduct pre-event briefings and venue walkthroughs; confirm readiness before guests arrive.
• Monitor event service in real time and resolve issues promptly and discreetly.
• Manage schedule changes and special requests while keeping the couple and relevant teams informed.
• Ensure event spaces are clean, safe, accessible, and compliant with hotel policies.
• Track labour, equipment, supplies, and event costs; support budget controls and accurate billing.
• Gather post-event feedback and share operational improvements with hotel leadership.
• Train, coach, and support banquet and event staff to deliver attentive, polished service.
• Undertake Duty Manager shifts as required.
