Job summary

Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa is seeking an experienced Hotel Events Operations Manager to lead the planning and on-site execution of weddings and events. You will coordinate hotel teams, vendors, and clients from planning through post-event wrap-up, ensuring service quality, safety, and budget adherence.

The role requires strong leadership, organisation and communication, with the ability to manage multiple events in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel events, banquet operations or wedding coordination.
• Strong leadership, organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of banquet service, event setup, food safety and guest-service standards.
• Familiarity with event-management systems and floor plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead events/wedding operations from final planning meetings through setup, ceremony, reception, and breakdown.
• Coordinate with sales, banquet team, culinary team, housekeeping, engineering, audiovisual, front desk, and security teams.
• Act as the main operational contact for clients, couples, wedding planners, and vendors on event days.
• Translate event orders and floor plans into clear staff assignments, timelines, and setup instructions.
• Conduct pre-event briefings and venue walkthroughs; confirm readiness before guests arrive.
• Monitor event service in real time and resolve issues promptly and discreetly.
• Manage schedule changes and special requests while keeping the couple and relevant teams informed.
• Ensure event spaces are clean, safe, accessible, and compliant with hotel policies.
• Track labour, equipment, supplies, and event costs; support budget controls and accurate billing.
• Gather post-event feedback and share operational improvements with hotel leadership.
• Train, coach, and support banquet and event staff to deliver attentive, polished service.
• Undertake Duty Manager shifts as required.
