Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking an Associate Consultant in its Transfer Agency team in Ireland. You will support day-to-day TA Dealing activities, resolve complex queries, and act as a point of escalation for junior staff, ensuring accuracy and timely client service.

You will work closely with the Dealing Manager and wider team to maintain high-quality operational delivery, while adhering to regulatory controls and group policies.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience within Transfer Agency, Fund Administration or Financial Services, preferably within a Dealing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Transfer Agency operations and the end-to-end dealing process.
• Ability to investigate and resolve operational queries and exceptions with sound judgement; escalate when required.
• Good understanding of operational risk, controls and escalation requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess information and take action.
• Experience taking ownership of client or operational deliverables and meeting deadlines.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail with high quality standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with clients, colleagues and internal stakeholders.
• Experience coaching or sharing knowledge with less experienced team members.
• Strong planning, organisation and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams and functions.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned clients and support day-to-day TA Dealing activities, ensuring service requirements and deadlines are met.
• Provide experienced operational and technical support to the Dealing team for complex queries and exceptions.
• Act as escalation point for junior staff and offshore partners for higher-risk matters.
• Oversee processing quality, accuracy and timeliness, including offshore dealing teams.
• Monitor workflow queues, identify issues and capacity concerns, escalate as needed.
• Prepare and review client and operational reporting, including cash and register reporting.
• Ensure deliverables are completed accurately within timeframes.
• Maintain up-to-date procedures, checklists and documentation.
• Complete data-protection checks and ensure communications follow TA policies.
• Identify, investigate and escalate operational risks and control issues.
