Job summary

Leinster Appointments is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join its Finance team on a temporary basis, with a view to extension. The role covers end-to-end payroll processing, pension administration and statutory requirements, reporting to the Finance Business Partner.

Prior payroll processing and a high level of confidentiality are essential. The ideal candidate will handle timesheets, deductions, Revenue updates, and ERR submissions, while providing timely payroll support to staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process from timesheet review to bank file submission.
  • Check and process timesheets, new starters, deductions, expenses and payroll adjustments.
  • Process Revenue/ROS updates and ensure accurate employee tax details.
  • Complete PAYE Modernisation and ERR submissions to Revenue.
  • Respond to and resolve employee payroll queries and ensure timely payments.
  • Administer payroll documentation including social welfare, maternity and other claims.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Review and improve payroll processes and controls where needed.
  • Keep up to date with payroll legislation and Revenue requirements.
  • Provide reports and updates to management as required.

Temporary Contract | View to Extension
Location:Monasterevin, Co. Kildare / Tullamore, Co. Offaly
Salary:€45,000 - €50,000 (Hourly rate)

Our client, a well-established voluntary organisation is seeking an experiencedPayroll Officerto join their Finance team on a temporary basis, with a view to extension.

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, as well as pension administration and related statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, from timesheet review through to bank file submission.
  • Check and process timesheets, new starters, deductions, expenses and other payroll adjustments.
  • Process Revenue/ROS updates and ensure employee tax details are accurate.
  • Complete PAYE Modernisation and Enhanced Reporting Requirement (ERR) submissions to Revenue.
  • Respond to and resolve employee payroll queries.
  • Complete monthly payroll procedures and associated payments.
  • Administer payroll-related documentation, including social welfare, maternity and other claims.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Review and improve payroll processes and controls where required.
  • Keep up to date with relevant payroll legislation, Revenue requirements, HSE circulars and guidelines.
  • Provide reports and updates to management as required.
The Person
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in payroll administration and processing a MUST
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • A high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Good IT and payroll systems experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deal confidently with payroll queries.
  • Knowledge of Revenue requirements and current payroll legislation.
  • Experience with CoreTime, CorePay and the Single Public Service Pension Scheme would be highly advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a busy Finance function on a temporary contract, with potential for extension.
