Job summary

Osborne Recruitment is hiring a Payroll Specialist to own end-to-end payroll for a growing organisation. This hybrid contract role in Dublin offers 2 days in the office and 3 days from home, with a salary of €60,000–€65,000 and a 12-month duration.

You will optimise processes, support HR and Finance, and ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting. Successful candidates will have payroll experience in corporate or agency settings, strong Excel skills, and the ability to handle confidential

Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll processing in corporate or agency environments.
  • Excellent data entry accuracy with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication to explain payroll to non-specialists.
  • Able to handle confidential information per data security protocols.
  • Experience with time and attendance data in payroll cycles.
  • Experience with multiple payroll systems or transitions.
  • IPASS experience is advantageous for Ireland/UK payroll.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve employee experience and simplify People processes through the payroll function.
  • Partner with the wider People team to continuously improve payroll delivery.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on payroll policies.
  • Coach leaders to embed effective people management practices.
  • Support audits and compliance checks with payroll documentation and data.
  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll runs accurately and on schedule using payroll software.
  • Validate and enter payroll data, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Review and reconcile time and attendance records, resolving discrepancies before payroll submission.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate payroll queries in a timely, professional manner.
  • Generate payroll reports and summaries for HR, finance, and management as required.
  • Monitor and apply relevant company policies within payroll processing activities.

Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a growing organisation where your precision and reliability in payroll will directly support employees and drive operational efficiency. This hybrid contract role offers the opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end payroll processes. THIS IS A 12 MONTH CONTRACT.

About the Role

The role will act as the organisations payroll subject matter expert and will work closely with colleagues across People & Culture, Finance and the wider Association. The Payroll Specialist will also play an important role in continually improving payroll processes, systems, reporting and employee experience. Key Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities to improve employee experience and simplify People processes through the payroll function.
  • Partner with the wider People team to continuously improve on delivering and effective and efficient payroll.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on payroll policies and procedure.
  • Coach and challenge leaders to embed effective people management practices.
  • Support organisational change and transformation initiatives.
  • Provide trusted advice and guidance across payroll queries, pension queries and other compensation and benefits queries.
  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll runs accurately and on schedule using payroll software.
  • Validate and enter payroll data, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Review and reconcile time and attendance records, resolving discrepancies before payroll submission.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll-related queries from employees and stakeholders in a timely, professional manner.
  • Generate payroll reports and summaries for HR, finance, and management as required.
  • Monitor and apply relevant company policies and procedures within payroll processing activities.
  • Support audits and compliance checks by providing accurate payroll documentation and data.
Requirements for Role
  • Proven experience in payroll processing within a corporate or agency environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a track record of high data entry accuracy.
  • Solid communication skills, able to explain payroll information clearly to non-specialists.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and adhere to data security protocols.
  • Analytical skills to identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies and errors.
  • Experience managing time and attendance data as part of the payroll cycle.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and related systems.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple payroll tasks in a contract, hybrid setting.
  • Experience with multiple payroll systems or exposure to system transitions.
  • Ireland and UK payroll experience a distinct advantage IPASS.
Qualifications

Prior experience in a shared services or recruitment agency environment. Strong Excel skills for data validation and reporting.
