Responsibilities

  • Process two weekly and one monthly payroll on schedule.
  • Ensure timely submission of Revenue returns and deadlines.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly payroll reports for management accounts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality service.
  • Ensure payroll aligns with Revenue requirements and internal policies.
  • Liaise with employees as required and respond to queries.
  • Assist with data for audits and with job costing reports.
  • Support general ledger accounting transactions and deadlines.

Role: Payroll (Finance) Officer

Location: Head Office, Airmount, Dominick Place, Waterford

Terms: Part Time,Fixed term contract

Hours: 24 hours per week over 3 days

Salary: €25,800 per annum

Job Purpose:

Part of a team managing Respond's Payroll Function as well as carrying out duties within the Accounts Payable Function

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate processing of two weekly and one monthly payroll
  • Strict adherence to deadlines in the processing and submission of Revenue Returns
  • Processing and reconciliation of monthly payroll reports for inclusion in monthly management accounts
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
  • Ensure payroll is processed in line with Revenue requirements, employment legislation, internal policies and agreed payroll deadlines.
  • Liaise with employees when and if required
  • Provide information and analysis to other in-house departments for payroll related reports
  • Assisting with the preparation of data for the internal and external audits.
  • Ensure that all payments are made in accordance with set procedures and guidelines
  • Assist in preparation of job costing reports
  • Assist in general and nominal ledger accounting transactions
  • Respond to internal and external queries that may arise
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

IPASS or similar payroll certification desirable but not essential.

Technical Skills/Personal Attributes:

  • IT literate and fully proficient in Microsoft packages including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Experience working with Micropay, or similar payroll packages
  • Working Knowledge of computerised accounts package.

Desired Skills/Attributes:

  • Strong technical knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, both written and interpersonal, including the capacity to deal with situations requiring diplomacy and tact
  • Attention to detail and excellent numerical skills

Experience:.

Position requires 3-5 years of payroll processing experience
