Job summary

Reap, a global fintech innovator, seeks a Staff Engineer/Tech Lead to drive agentic payments capabilities. You will integrate with existing card and payments rails, shaping the platform for autonomous payment decisions across services.

You’ll work with product and engineering teams to ship scalable, secure infrastructure. The role emphasizes adaptability, ownership, and collaboration in a fully remote, async environment.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong API design skills with clean, versioned contracts.
• Experience dropping into unfamiliar codebases and shipping quickly with AI tools.
• Demonstrated engagement with agentic-commerce space or related protocols.
• Strong product sense from idea to production without a detailed spec.
• Low ego and high adaptability in a fully remote, async team.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship agentic capabilities, from card enrollment to checkout execution.
• Collaborate across structured agentic-commerce protocols and custom checkout automation.
• Own agentic features end-to-end across team boundaries and production environments.
• Help shape the agentic payments roadmap and turn decisions into shipped infrastructure.
• Collaborate directly with product, founders, and the teams whose systems you’ll embed in.
