Job summary

Reap is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Card Engineering team to design, develop, and operate services powering card transactions, fraud detection, and lifecycle management. You will work with product managers, compliance, and other engineers to builds scalable, secure financial systems.

Ideal candidates have substantial fintech experience, strong backend skills, and comfort with TypeScript/Node.js. The role offers high ownership and opportunities to shape Reap’s card ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, fintech or infrastructure preferred.
• Backend systems experience in typed languages (TypeScript, Java, Go).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, observability, and retries.
• Ability to collaborate across Product, Risk, Finance and Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services for card transactions and fraud detection.
• Contribute to system architecture with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver compliant financial systems.
• Write clean, well-tested code in a service-oriented architecture.
