Job summary

Allied Health/Nursing in Rathmines, Dublin is seeking an experienced Social Care Team Leader to provide day-to-day leadership within a specialist residential service supporting Separated Children Seeking International Protection.

You will lead the care team, promote safeguarding and trauma-informed care, and help create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive. This role includes on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must hold CORU registration and relevant social care qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience, with supervisory experience.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and provide guidance and support to the staff team.
• Promote child-centred, rights-based and trauma-informed practice.
• Supervise, mentor and develop Social Care Workers.
• Ensure safeguarding and child protection standards are maintained.
• Support Care Plans, Placement Plans, risk assessments and safety planning.
• Monitor care documentation and recording standards.
• Participate in admissions, assessments and transition planning.
• Work collaboratively with Tusla, education, healthcare and other professionals.
• Support quality improvement and HIQA inspection readiness.
• Promote children's participation and positive outcomes.
• Participate in the on-call rota where required.

Location:Rathmines, Dublin
Contract:Full-time, Permanent
Hours:36-48 hours per week
Starting Rate:€19.50 per hour, negotiable depending on experience

Essential Requirements

• Recognised Social Care qualification or relevant related qualification.
• Current CORU registration.
• Minimum2 years' relevant experience.
• Previous experience supervising or leading staff.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Commitment to child-centred and trauma-informed practice.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Satisfactory Garda Vetting.

Experience with separated children/unaccompanied minors, residential childcare, trauma-informed care or cross-cultural practice is highly desirable.
