Job summary

About the Role

We are recruiting a Social Care Supervisor to lead and manage the delivery of vulnerability assessments for international protection applicants in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. You will be responsible for quality assurance, escalation pathways, guidance, and oversight of a dedicated team within our Dublin operations.

This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 50% on-site presence, with flexibility to work additional hours as operational demand requires.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Quality Assurance: Provide guidance, supervision, and quality assurance for all assessment activities
• Escalation Management: Handle complex cases and escalation pathways; advise on safeguarding and welfare concerns
• Performance Oversight: Monitor team adherence to protocols, timelines, and safeguarding standards
• Staff Development: Support professional development and competency maintenance of assessment staff
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Children First Act 2015, GDPR, and all relevant safeguarding legislation
• Training Delivery: Deliver or coordinate trauma-informed practice, intercultural communication, and child protection training for staff
• Liaison & Reporting: Communicate with external stakeholders; contribute to weekly and annual reporting requirements
• Operational Management: Participate in scheduling, resource allocation, and capacity planning

About You

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 4 years' relevant professional experience in social care, mental health, or vulnerable populations work
• CORU registration as a Social Care Worker
• Current Garda vetting clearance (or willingness to obtain)
• Children First training completion prior to commencement
• Strong leadership and team management capability
• Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practice
• Ability to identify and respond to signs of vulnerability, trauma, and special needs
• Competence in trauma-informed practice and intercultural communication
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a high-volume, time-pressured environment
• Proficiency with data management and reporting systems
• Experience working with vulnerable or refugee populations
• Experience in a government or publicly-funded service
• Knowledge of the Irish immigration/protection system

Language Requirements:

• Third-level qualification completed through English, OR
• C1 level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
