Job summary

Morgan McKinley is recruiting a Site Engineer to join a leading Cork-based contractor. The role focuses on on-site delivery, safety and alignment with the project programme and Building Regulations.

Ideal candidates have a third-level engineering qualification, at least 3 years on Irish construction projects, and strong surveying/set-out capabilities. The position is based in Cork with a salary up to €80k DOE, plus bonus, pension, and a company car.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with set out, survey & level, temporary works coordination.
• 3+ years experience on Irish construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction techniques.
• Strong numeracy and report writing skills.
• Ability to manage budget and timeline and to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction works on site to ensure they are completed safely in line with the program and Building Regulations.
• Assume day-to-day management of the site technical & engineering requirements (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings, Design Team Workshops, etc.).
• Set out site works using robotic total stations, GPS, and other surveying tools, ensuring accurate measurements and layouts.
• Ensure quality control measures on the site are implemented and are in line with the overall BCAR plan for the project.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors in the planning & construction of the project.
• Support the Project Manager/Contracts Manager to ensure that works are completed as per programme, on budget to a high standard.
• Identify any information gaps, develop solutions and rectify in conjunction with the project and design teams.
• Maintain excellent relationships with the construction project team and subcontractors.
