Job summary

Errigal, a leading Irish construction company, seeks an experienced Site Engineer for our Cork projects. You will support delivery on site, ensuring works meet drawings, specifications and programme requirements while upholding safety and quality standards.

Working with the Site Manager and subcontractors, you will set out and measure works, review technical information, and maintain accurate project records to promote teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience in construction/site engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Full driving licence and CSCS/CSR card.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical and engineering support on site.
  • Set out and measure works accurately per drawings.
  • Review drawings and specifications and resolve issues.
  • Carry out site inspections and maintain accurate project records.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Managers and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient delivery in line with programme.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and company standards.
  • Liaise with subcontractors to deliver packages to a high standard of quality.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join our growing team. The Site Engineer will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects on site, ensuring works are completed safely, accurately, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications, drawings and programme requirements. Working closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors and wider project team, you will be responsible for providing technical support on site, coordinating works and ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained throughout the project.

Location: Cork

Reports To: Project Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day technical and engineering support across construction projects. (initial project in Clonakilty)
  • Set out and measure works accurately in accordance with drawings and specifications.
  • Review drawings, specifications and technical information, identifying and resolving issues where required.
  • Carry out site inspections, quality checks and maintain accurate project records.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors and wider project teams to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
  • Ensure all works comply with health & safety, quality and company standards, while supporting a positive culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Liaising extensively with sub-contractors to ensure the delivery of packages to a high standard of quality and accuracy.
Key Requirements
  • Previous construction/site engineering experience required.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Full driving licence
  • Valid CSCS / CSR card.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
