Setting Out Engineer – Residential Development

A well-established civil engineering and construction contractor is currently seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer / Site Engineer to join their team on a major residential development in Collooney, Co. Sligo.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the setting out and engineering requirements associated with the civil works on the development, working closely with the Site Management and wider project team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer looking to take on a key role within a well-established project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out accurate setting out and surveying for all civil and groundworks activities.
- Setting out foundations, roads, footpaths, kerbing and other external works.
- Setting out raft foundations and concrete works.
- Establish and maintain site control points and benchmarks.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications and engineering information.
- Check levels, dimensions and coordinates to ensure works are constructed accurately.
- Liaise with subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are completed correctly and to programme.
- Monitor and verify groundworks, drainage and utility installations.
- Assist with the coordination of roads, footpaths, drainage, kerbing and associated external works.
- Carry out quality checks and maintain accurate site records.
- Identify and resolve any technical issues arising on site.
- Work closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health & safety, quality and environmental requirements.
Requirements
- Degree/Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer / Site Engineer on construction or civil engineering projects.
- Strong setting out and surveying experience.
- Experience with residential developments and associated civil works would be highly beneficial.
- Experience with foundations, drainage, roads, footpaths and utilities.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on site.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Full driving licence.
