Job Title: Setting Out Engineer Residential Development

Our client, an established Irish contractor, is seeking a setting out engineer to join the project team on a large-scale residential development in Wexford. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of the development, working closely with the Site Management and Engineering teams to ensure all works are accurately set out and constructed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and programme requirements. The project includes the construction of residential units together with extensive associated civil works, roads, drainage, utilities and services infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out accurate setting out and surveying of residential units, roads, drainage, utilities and associated civil works.
- Interpret and work from construction drawings, specifications and digital models.
- Check dimensions, levels and alignment of completed works to ensure compliance with design requirements.
- Liaise closely with Site Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and other project stakeholders to resolve setting-out and technical issues.
- Undertake regular quality checks and provide accurate records of completed works.
- Monitor works against drawings and specifications and identify any discrepancies or potential issues at an early stage.
- Assist with surveying, as-built information and the preparation of relevant site records.
- Maintain accurate site documentation and communicate technical information clearly to the wider project team.
- Ensure all setting-out activities are completed in line with health and safety requirements and project procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- A degree, diploma or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer on residential, commercial or civil engineering projects.
- Strong practical experience in setting out buildings, roads, drainage and external works.
- Good knowledge of construction methods, site procedures and civil engineering principles.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering information.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a site-based team while also managing tasks independently.
- A strong understanding of health and safety requirements on active construction sites.
- Previous experience on a large-scale residential development would be highly advantageous
