Job summary

Mastercard in Ireland (Dublin area) seeks a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of core infrastructure, networks, and services powering payments platforms. You will drive health metrics, capacity planning, and incident RCA while collaborating with product and development teams to ensure scalable, secure operations.

The role emphasizes automation, IaC, and on-call readiness, with a focus on building resilient, observable systems and continuous improvement across the Payments

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in an SRE or SRE-related operations role, including 3+ years supporting ecommerce, financial services, or large-scale SaaS platforms.
• Excellent infrastructure troubleshooting and analytical problem solving skills.
• Strong hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or equivalent, with a proven ability to triage and investigate complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous assessments of the application infrastructure supporting Mastercard’s platforms, focusing on health, performance, monitoring and capacity.
• Champion observability as a core principle for infrastructure services and build unified dashboards for RCA.
• Lead regular incident reviews and drive remediation strategies when patterns emerge.
• Leverage automation and Infrastructure as Code to enhance proactive issue detection and self-healing capabilities.
• Develop testing and validation plans for new environment builds, disaster recovery exercises and post-maintenance checks.
• Lead knowledge sharing and training across networking and infra disciplines to strengthen the SRE team.
• Evaluate vendor hardware/firmware and conduct POC testing for upcoming releases.
