Job summary

Mastercard is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join the Payments Network SRE team. You will own end-to-end service quality, driving capacity planning, performance trends, and unified observability across core infrastructure to ensure 24/7 availability.

You will collaborate with Product and Development teams to embed reliability from design through operation, lead RCA processes, and leverage automation and AI to improve detection and remediation of incidents.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in an SRE or related operations role, including 3+ years supporting ecommerce, financial services, or large-scale SaaS platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or equivalents, with a proven ability to triage and investigate complex issues.
• Familiarity with network telemetry tools such as SolarWinds and NetScout.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to drive RCA processes to closure.
• Experience partnering with development teams to shape architecture, define SLIs/SLOs, and embed reliability into services from design through operation.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end service quality of Mastercard applications within Payments Network SRE.
• Lead capacity forecasting, performance trends analysis, and root cause investigation to ensure availability and resilience.
• Design and implement unified observability, dashboards, and alerting strategies across infrastructure telemetry.
• Run regular incident reviews and coordinate cross-functional troubleshooting with Product and Development teams.
• Develop and execute testing plans for new environments, DR exercises, and post-maintenance activities to certify readiness.
• Drive automation and AI-based monitoring to reduce MTTR and MTDT (Mean Time to Detect/Mitigate).
