Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Lead SRE Engineer to own reliability for core Payments Network infrastructure. You will drive health, performance, and capacity initiatives, building unified telemetry and dashboards for root cause analysis and proactive remediation.

The role emphasizes automation, on‑call readiness, and collaboration with product teams to scale and secure services. You will lead incident reviews, mentor engineers, and shape architecture with SLIs/SLOs.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in SRE or related operations, incl. e‑commerce/scale SaaS.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem solving.
• Hands-on with observability stacks and monitoring tools.
• Experience with automation and IaC (Chef/Ansible/Terraform).
• Excellent cross‑functional communication and RCA leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous assessments of Mastercard's infrastructure for health, performance, and capacity.
• Build dashboards and unify telemetry across systems for RCA and optimization.
• Drive on-call readiness and post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence.
• Use automation/AI to improve proactive issue detection and self-healing.
• Collaborate with Product/Dev teams to align reliability with business needs.
• Provide training and guidance on networking and platform reliability.
