Job summary

Lumen Search is recruiting a Senior Site Engineer for a large residential development in Ennis, Co. Clare. You will join a leading contractor delivering high-quality schemes across Ireland and play a key role in day-to-day site engineering activities.

The role focuses on setting out, quality control, safety compliance and close collaboration with the Site Manager, subcontractors and design teams to keep the programme on track.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 2–5+ years’ experience as Site Engineer on construction projects.
• Experience on residential developments is desirable.
• Strong setting out and surveying capabilities.
• Proficient with total stations, GPS and levelling equipment.
• Good knowledge of Irish building regulations and health & safety procedures.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish site levels and grid lines in line with drawings and specs.
• Monitor on-site quality control and ensure workmanship meets standards.
• Conduct site surveys and maintain accurate measurement records.
• Coordinate with Site Manager and subcontractors for daily delivery.
• Assist sequencing and coordination of works on-site.
• Maintain site diaries, QA records and progress reports.
• Provide technical support and resolve engineering issues.
• Coordinate material orders to meet programme targets.
• Attend site meetings with design teams and stakeholders.

Summary

Our client is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Site Engineer to join a leading construction team delivering a large-scale residential development in Ennis, Co. Clare. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to work on a high-profile project with a well-established contractor known for delivering high-quality residential schemes across Ireland.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day management of site engineering activities, ensuring works are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety and accuracy while working closely with the wider site and project management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish site levels, grid lines and ensure all works are completed in line with design drawings and specifications.
• Monitor quality control on‑site, ensuring workmanship and materials meet project standards and regulations.
• Conduct site surveys and maintain accurate records of measurements and as-built information.
• Work closely with the Site Manager and subcontractors to ensure smooth day-to-day project delivery.
• Assist with coordination of subcontractors and sequencing of works on-site.
• Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain site documentation including daily diaries, QA records, progress reports and material records.
• Provide technical support and resolve any engineering or construction issues as they arise.
• Coordinate material orders and deliveries to ensure programme targets are achieved.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with design teams, consultants and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 2–5+ years’ experience working as a Site Engineer within the construction industry.
• Experience working on residential developments is highly desirable.
• Strong setting out and surveying experience.
• Proficient with total stations, GPS and levelling equipment.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience using AutoCAD or similar software would be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of Irish building regulations and health & safety procedures.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative site team environment.
