Job summary

Irish Main Contractor in Co. Clare is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead on a multi-million euro commercial project. You will coordinate engineering activities on site, work with the Project Manager, Site Manager, design team and subcontractors to maintain quality and keep the programme moving.

This role offers a competitive salary (€75,000–€80,000), a vehicle and fuel allowance, a matched pension, CPD and ongoing training, with long-term development towards Site or Project Management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
• 5+ years site-based engineering experience with a Main Contractor in Ireland.
• Strong setting out, surveying and technical engineering capabilities.
• Experience on commercial or industrial projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of engineering activities on site, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, programme and quality.
• Coordinate setting out and surveying and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with Project Manager, Site Manager and design team to resolve technical issues.
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor quality to maintain standards.

Overview

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a leading Irish Main Contractor on a major €multi-million commercial project in Co. Clare. This is a technically challenging project being delivered within a busy, live operational environment, involving significant refurbishment, structural, architectural, civil and building services works. As Senior Engineer, you’ll take a key role in the engineering and technical delivery of the project, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, design team and specialist subcontractors to coordinate works, maintain quality and keep the programme moving. The contractor has a strong and growing pipeline of work across the West of Ireland, offering long term security without the need to relocate or spend years travelling around the country for future projects. They place a major emphasis on developing their people, offering funded CPD, ongoing training, structured career progression and opportunities to move towards Site Management or Project Management in the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of engineering activities on site, ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, programme and quality requirements.
• Coordinate setting out and surveying activities across the project, as well as mentoring Junior Engineers.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, design team and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and maintain progress.
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor the quality of works, ensuring company and project standards are maintained.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in a site based engineering role with a Main Contractor in Ireland.
• Strong setting out, surveying and technical engineering experience.
• Experience working on commercial or industrial projects would be highly beneficial.

The Package

Salary will depend on experience, but an experienced Senior Engineer can expect a package in the region of €75,000 - €80,000 + Vehicle + Fuel + Matched Pension Scheme + CPD + Ongoing Training.
