Key Responsibilities

• Take a lead role in managing and coordinating all engineering activities across a major residential development.
• Oversee, mentor and provide technical guidance to Site Engineers and junior members of the site team.
• Work closely with the Contracts Manager, Contracts Director and wider project management team to ensure successful project delivery.
• Manage setting-out operations, site surveys, levels, coordinates and engineering controls.
• Ensure all construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, building regulations and quality standards.
• Coordinate engineering activities with site management, subcontractors, consultants and design teams.
• Review technical drawings, identify potential design or construction issues and implement practical solutions.
• Monitor construction progress against agreed programmes, identifying potential delays and assisting with corrective measures.
• Maintain high standards of quality assurance, inspections, technical documentation and site records.
• Support the management of subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Assist with technical queries, RFIs, design coordination and the resolution of site-related challenges.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture across all site operations.
• Attend site coordination and progress meetings, providing engineering updates to senior management.
• Support the successful delivery of the project through to completion and handover.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong experience working as a Senior Site Engineer or an experienced Site Engineer ready to progress into a senior position.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale residential developments, ideally with a main contractor or established residential developer.
• Excellent technical knowledge of setting out, structural works, drainage, groundworks, infrastructure and residential construction.
• Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to manage, support and develop junior engineers.
• Confident working alongside senior construction management and coordinating multiple site activities.
• Excellent understanding of construction drawings, specifications, quality control and site procedures.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of engineering operations and drive progress on site.
• Experience using modern surveying equipment and relevant construction software.
