Job summary

ICDS Group in Dublin is seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer for a major city-centre development in Dublin 8. The role focuses on day-to-day engineering delivery, working with the Project Manager, Site Management, subcontractors and design consultants.

You will lead setting out, surveying and coordination to ensure works align with drawings, specifications and programme, while maintaining rigorous QA and site records.

Qualifications

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience as Site Engineer on large-scale projects.
• Strong setting-out and technical engineering skills.
• Experience on commercial, residential, hospitality, or mixed-use schemes.
• Proficiency with engineering software and surveying equipment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to perform well in a busy site environment.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying construction works on site.

Job description

A leading Irish construction contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality projects across Ireland and internationally is currently seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join their team on a major city-centre development in Dublin 8.

The project is a significant new-build hospitality development in The Liberties, involving a complex urban site, concrete frame construction, façade works and a high-specification internal fit-out. The development also incorporates the careful retention and integration of an existing historic façade, creating a technically challenging and highly visible project within Dublin’s city centre.

The Role

As Senior Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the day-to-day engineering delivery of the project, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Management team, subcontractors and design consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out and surveying of construction works
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme
• Reviewing and coordinating technical information and drawings
• Managing and resolving technical queries on site
• Coordinating with subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered to the required standards
• Carrying out quality inspections and maintaining accurate site records
• Assisting with planning, sequencing and coordination of works
• Monitoring progress and supporting the Site Management team
• Liaising with the design team and other project stakeholders
• Supporting the delivery of works safely, efficiently and to programme

Requirements

• Degree/Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline
• 5+ years’ experience in a Site Engineering role
• Strong setting-out and technical engineering skills
• Previous experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, hospitality or mixed-use projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, specifications and drawings
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively within a busy site environment
• Proficiency with relevant engineering and surveying software/equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
