Qualifications

• 8–15+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Proven track record on large-scale building projects (healthcare, commercial, residential).
• Experience in live or highly regulated environments (healthcare a big advantage).
• Strong cost control & reporting capability.
• Solid understanding of contractual entitlement.
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Full commercial management of the project from inception to completion.
• Preparation, review, and management of budgets and cost plans.
• Management of subcontractor packages and payments.
• Valuations, interim payments, and final accounts.
• Cost reporting and forecasting to senior stakeholders.
• Assessment and negotiation of variations and claims.
• Involvement in contract administration (likely NEC/JCT/Public Works).
• Liaison with Project Managers, design teams, site teams, and client representatives.
• Ensure commercial processes align with project governance and compliance standards.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a flagship acute healthcare development project, delivering a 97-bed inpatient ward block as part of a major hospital expansion.

This is a large-scale, multi-storey build in a live hospital environment, requiring a commercially astute QS with strong experience in complex construction projects, stakeholder coordination, and cost control.

Project Overview

• Six-storey inpatient ward block with rooftop plant
• 97 beds (General & Specialist Wards)
• Ancillary clinical, therapy, and staff facilities
• Multi-storey car park & campus infrastructure upgrades
• Live hospital environment with high compliance and safety standards

Key Responsibilities

• Full commercial management of the project from inception to completion
