Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is partnering with a leading interiors and fit-out contractor in Dublin to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will oversee commercial management, budgets, and client relationships across multiple fit-out projects valued €500k to €5 million.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in interiors or main contracting, deliver cost control, and work closely with project teams to protect margins and ensure contractual compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or stepping into a senior role.
• Strong background in interiors, fit-out, or main contracting.
• Experience managing multiple projects valued €500k–€5 million.
• Excellent knowledge of cost management, procurement, valuations, and final accounts.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple fit-out projects valued between €500k and €5 million.
• Oversee project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier packages to ensure value for money and commercial efficiency.
• Manage procurement processes, including tendering, subcontractor appointments, and material purchasing.
• Prepare and submit interim valuations, payment applications, variations, and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs against budgets, identify potential financial risks, and implement measures to protect profitability.
• Assess and negotiate variations, contractual claims, and additional works with clients and subcontractors.
• Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to monitor progress, manage costs, and ensure commercial targets are achieved.
• Review drawings, specifications, tender documentation, and bills of quantities to identify commercial opportunities and potential risks.
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers across all projects.
• Provide regular commercial reports and financial updates to senior management.
• Ensure all commercial activities comply with contractual obligations, company procedures, and industry best practices.

About Your New Job

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of several fit-out projects simultaneously, ensuring financial performance, contractual compliance, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with project managers, site teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, you will play a key role in protecting project margins, managing commercial risks, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience within the interiors, fit-out, or main contracting sector, with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining excellent relationships with clients and subcontractors.

What Skills You Need

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to step into a senior role.

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, ideally ranging in value from €500k to €5 million.


• Excellent knowledge of cost management, procurement, subcontractor negotiation, valuations, variations, and final accounts.


• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify risks, control costs, and maximise project profitability.


• Excellent communication, negotiation, organisational, and analytical skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively with project delivery teams while maintaining commercial oversight.


• Relevant third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial or quantity surveying software.
