Job summary

Rent a Recruiter is actively seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major, high-value project in Ireland. You will oversee commercial management across multiple live workstreams, owning budgets, costs and forecasting to ensure financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires experience on large-scale construction, strong budget discipline and ability to manage a portfolio of live projects. Both permanent and contract opportunities are available on this major project.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally Senior QS level.
• Experience on large-scale or complex construction projects.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of live projects simultaneously.
• Strong budget management and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial performance of multiple live projects/workstreams at the same time.
• Taking ownership of project budgets and ensuring costs remain controlled.
• Reviewing trade and subcontractor submissions against budgets and scope.
• Monitoring actual expenditure, committed costs and remaining budgets.
• Identifying cost variances and potential commercial risks early.
• Preparing regular cost reports and providing clear commercial updates.
• Forecasting future spend and projected final costs across your portfolio.
• Managing variations, valuations, payment applications and subcontractor accounts.
• Supporting procurement and the commercial management of trade packages.
• Working with project and site teams to understand changes in scope, programme and costs.
• Managing commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project.
• Supporting final accounts and project close-out.

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Project

We are currently recruiting Senior Quantity Surveyors to join a major, high-value project in Ireland, with opportunities available on both a permanent and contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large-scale project environment with multiple workstreams running concurrently. We are looking for commercially strong Quantity Surveyors who are comfortable managing multiple live projects and can take ownership of budgets, costs and forecasting.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of a number of live projects/workstreams, working closely with project, construction and procurement teams to ensure costs are effectively controlled throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the commercial performance of multiple live projects/workstreams at the same time.


• Taking ownership of project budgets and ensuring costs remain controlled.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally at Senior QS level.


• Experience working on large-scale or complex construction projects.


• The ability to manage a portfolio of live projects simultaneously.


• Strong experience in budget management and cost control.


• Experience managing trade/subcontractor submissions and ensuring spend remains within budget.


• Strong understanding of cost forecasting and projected spend.


• Experience across procurement, variations, valuations and final accounts.


• Strong commercial and analytical skills.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple priorities.
