Job summary

Vickerstock is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for civil engineering, infrastructure or major construction projects in Dublin. You will own commercial activities, work with an experienced project team and mentor junior members of the commercial team.

The role offers opportunity to lead Valuations, cashflow management and final accounts across significant civil projects, with a supportive environment for career progression and CPD.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience within Quantity Surveying, ideally with a main contractor.
  • Strong experience across civil engineering, infrastructure or major construction projects.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with the Society of Chartered Surveyors (SCS).
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills and a good understanding of relevant commercial systems.
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring junior members of a commercial team would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Managing monthly, interim and final valuations, applications for payment and reconciliation of costs across contracts, subcontractors, specialists and suppliers.
  • Monitoring cash flow and contract positions to ensure accurate and regular commercial reporting.
  • Working alongside the Procurement Manager to place and manage subcontract packages where required.
  • Reviewing contract documentation and identifying any anomalies, risks or commercial issues.
  • Preparing, submitting and agreeing interim and final valuations with client representatives.
  • Completing accurate quantity take-offs to support the Estimating, Procurement and Planning functions.
  • Preparing and agreeing final accounts for completed sections of work, including all necessary adjustments.
  • Maintaining detailed records of contractual delays and their associated commercial implications.
  • Managing, mentoring and developing Contract Surveyors, Assistant Surveyors and Junior Surveyors.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civils | Dublin


A leading and well-established main contractor is continuing to expand its operations and is now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civils to join their team in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor with strong experience across civil engineering, infrastructure or major construction projects to take ownership of key commercial activities while working alongside an experienced project team.
