Job summary

Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client seeks a Senior Project Officer (Training Lead) for an initial 6‑month period with possible extensions. Based in Kells, Co. Meath, the role supports hybrid working and requires onsite attendance for meetings and workshops.

Job description

Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a suitably skilled Senior Project Officer (Training Lead) to join their team. The duration of this post is 6 months initially with possible extensions thereafter. This role will be based in Kells Co. Meath & Hybrid Working will apply. The successful candidate must be able to attend onsite meetings & workshops as required.

Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an hourly rate of €32.02 per hour based on an annualised salary of €58,477 you will accrue 30 days annual leave per year and paid Bank Holidays.

Role Overview
  • To provide and maintain a coherent project management framework with supporting Project Portfolio Management platform (Modus), tools and resources.
  • To provide training in and support of Project Management and associated processes, tools and techniques.
  • To assess and measure outcomes of the first two goals by means of a Quality Assurance process.
  • To analyse and report on the performance of the client portfolio of projects and programmes, aligned with the strategic goals of the client.

This role will serve as the Training Lead, responsible for developing training materials, coordinating training sessions, and supporting users throughout the transition. In addition, the Project Officer will provide essential day‑to‑day PMO support, including reporting, governance coordination, and administrative duties.

Role & Responsibilities
Training Process Responsibilities & Training Delivery
  • Assist in the co-ordination and tailoring of the training schedule to meet the needs of all departments.
  • Assist in the development of all training materials required as part of the training plan.
  • Assist in developing the training approach to manage and support the delivery of the new system.
  • Use a variety of methods - classroom, virtual, one to one, scenario-based sessions, and job role specific training.
  • Develop user friendly training materials, guides, quick reference sheets, eLearning modules, and demonstration videos.
  • Ensure all training materials align with national standards, local workflows, and change management needs.
Typical Outputs

  • Feedback and adoption reports.
Additional Day to Day PMO Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support Project and Programme Managers in adoption and usage of Project Management tools.
  • Pro-actively contribute and lead out on development and refinement of PM processes, procedures, standards, KPIs, etc.
  • Coach and support Project Managers through the implementation of the new system (PM methodology, processes, techniques).
  • Support monthly reporting at project, programme and portfolio levels
Skills & Experience
  • Significant experience delivering training, facilitation, coaching or mentoring to end users or project teams.
  • Experience developing and maintaining training materials, user guides, reference documents or similar learning resources.
  • Significant experience delivering training, facilitation, coaching or mentoring to end users or project teams.
  • Experience in the delivery of similar change projects ensuring the requirements are met.
  • Knowledge of Project Management disciplines (PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile, etc.) would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Relevant certifications in the areas of training.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex digital tools for diverse user groups.
  • Problem solving and user support experience.
  • A strong level of proficiency in Office 365 suite of applications, including MS Project, ability to self-support.
  • Good working understanding of information technology in general.

  • Strong training delivery skills using classroom and virtual methods.
  • Ability to create high-quality training materials and quick reference guides.
  • Clear and confident communication across user groups.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
  • Strong organisation and scheduling skills in fast‑moving project environments.
  • Problem solving ability with a focus on user support and issue resolution.
