Job summary

Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client seeks an experienced ICT Co-Ordinator to lead and expand the ICT service. The role is based onsite in Offaly for an initial 12 months with likely extensions.

You will work a 35-hour week and earn €33.52 per hour, equating to an annualised salary of €61,219, with 30 days annual leave and paid bank holidays. You will develop ICT strategy, manage projects, ensure security and compliance, and coordinate with HR, Finance and the Clinical team to support

Qualifications

  • Experience in project management.
  • Knowledge of ICT applications and ICT support.

  • Experience in preparing and delivering training programmes.
  • Familiarity with budgets, procurement policies and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of ICT strategy in line with client priorities.

  • Oversee implementation and support of National ICT projects.
  • Ensure staff have access to required infrastructure, support and development services.
  • Conduct ICT training needs analysis and develop plans with HR.
  • Coordinate ICT contracts and service agreements and monitor spending.
  • Ensure cyber security measures and disaster recovery plans are in place.
  • Maintain ICT systems and ensure data integration across patient information systems.
  • Monitor Service Desk effectiveness and coordinate with the Website development team.

Job description

Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for an experienced ICT Co-Ordinator to join their team. The duration of this post is 12 months initially with likely extensions thereafter. This is an onsite role based in Offaly.

Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an hourly rate of €33.52 per hour based on an annualised salary of €61,219. You will accrue 30 days annual leave per year and paid Bank Holidays. Access to appropriate travel to fulfil the requirements of the role. Must be flexible in relation to working hours.

Purpose of post:

To develop, manage and expand the Information and Communication Technology service of our client and ensure the availability and integrity of data used.

Principal duties and responsibilities
  • Lead the development of a comprehensive approach to ICT throughout our client and in support of our clients priorities.
  • Develop collaborative working relations with Consultants, Director of Nursing and Heads of Service.
  • Oversee the implementation and support of National ICT projects
  • To ensure staff have access to required infrastructure, support and development services
  • In conjunction with HR, conduct an ICT training needs analysis and development plan.
  • Liaise with the Financial Accountant to ensure expenditure is controlled within agreed limits and in compliance with client financial plan.
  • Prepare, in consultation with the Finance Accountant and other stakeholders an ICT capital investment plan for new initiatives and equipment replacement.
  • Ensure integration through interfacing of all patient-based information systems
  • Ensure client ICT Security policies are effectively implemented across the client including networks and PCs.
  • Ensure all systems are appropriately backed up and recoverable.
  • Assist in the purchase of hardware and software products.
  • Monitor Service Desk effectiveness to ensure staff receive the support they require.
  • Liaise with the Communication Department regarding the maintenance and development of a Website for our client.
  • Ensure that there are appropriate service contracts for hardware and software maintenance in place, in line with national ICT approvals process and the National Financial Regulations.
  • Ensure that appropriate cyber security measures and disaster recovery plans are in place.
  • Liaise and co-operate with the client on all cyber related matters.
  • Provide a copy of all ICT contracts and service agreements.
  • Maintain a register of all PC’s within our client
  • Respond to ICT incidents and work our client on critical incidents as required. Ensure Business Intelligence Unit services are available to our clients Management Team.
  • Be familiar with the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act, and all other relevant policies.
  • Have a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards as they apply to the role for example, Standards for Healthcare, National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections, Hygiene Standards etc and comply with associated client protocols for implementing and maintaining these standards as appropriate to the role
  • To support, promote and actively participate in sustainable energy, water and waste initiatives to create a more sustainable, low carbon and efficient health service.

  • Experience in project management
Professional Knowledge & Experience
  • Knowledge of ICT applications, i.e. Computer literacy and familiarity with common office automation
  • Knowledge and understanding in the provision of ICT support
  • Knowledge and understanding of Database Management
  • Knowledge and understanding of patient-based information systems or electronic health care records utilised within client setting e.g. IPIMS
  • Experience in preparation and provision of training programmes
  • Knowledge and understanding of operations and policies utilised within client
  • Knowledge and understanding of sourcing procurement policies and managing budgets
  • Knowledge and experience of a Network and Server environment including, monitoring, troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • Knowledge and experience of cyber security, as well as an awareness of cyber related obligations.
