Job summary

Glanua Limited is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our pre-construction team in the Galway region. You will craft detailed, compliant mechanical estimates for major municipal programmes and ensure pricing reflects robust technical and commercial risk management.

You will partner with design, project management and procurement to deliver cost-effective, buildable solutions and provide pricing guidance during tender strategy and optioneering.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical estimating within water, wastewater or related infrastructure sectors.
• Proven track record in developing accurate, competitive mechanical estimates for complex treatment plant projects.
• Experience with public utility clients including Uisce Éireann or UK water companies is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Estimate preparation based on drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Participate in design development to assess buildability, installation methods and materials.
• Provide early stage cost guidance to support optioneering and value for money.
• Ensure governance and risk management processes are followed and documented.
• Develop tender programmes and staff/resource plans with planning and discipline leads.
• Work with buyers to procure and negotiate terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sector developments and market trends.
