Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator in Ireland to lead detailed, evidenced-based mechanical estimates for complex projects in the water and wastewater sectors. You will participate in design development, manage procurement plans, and ensure governance and accurate cost modelling.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years, ideally 15, experience in mechanical estimating, with familiarity with public utility clients. Strong analytical and collaborative skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years experience (Essential)
• Minimum 15 years experience in mechanical estimating in water, wastewater or related infrastructure sectors
• Experience with public utilities such as Uisce Éireann or UK water companies is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Estimate Preparation: develop detailed, accurate mechanical estimates based on drawings and tender docs.
• Design Development participation to assess buildability, installation methods and material choices.
• Risk and Governance Compliance: follow commercial governance with clear assumptions and exclusions.
• Tender Preparation: contribute to tender development with detailed staff schedules and resource plans.
• Procurement Planning: develop procurement plans, evaluate quotations and secure competitive pricing.
• Technical and Industry Awareness: stay updated on sector developments and cost modelling.
• Financial Modelling: build financial models for framework submissions and rate development.
• Cost Coding and Feedback: use standard cost coding and improve cost libraries.
