Job summary

Glanua, based in Galway, Ireland, seeks a Mechanical Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical projects within water, wastewater, or construction sectors.

You will lead tender preparation, collaborate across teams, apply risk and governance controls, and build procurement plans while ensuring estimates reflect buildability and budget constraints. Proficiency in cost estimating software and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical estimating.
• Experience in water, wastewater, or construction sectors.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Estimate preparation for mechanical works based on drawings and specs.
• Participate in design development to evaluate buildability and cost.
• Ensure risk and governance processes are followed and documented.
• Contribute to tender preparation and staff scheduling for tenders.
• Assist procurement planning with suppliers and subs, negotiating terms.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mechanical engineering trends.
• Develop financial models for framework submissions and budgets.
• Apply standardized cost coding for accurate feedback.
