Job summary

Talent Hired is seeking a Senior Estimator for upcoming civil, energy and infrastructure tenders across Ireland (Dublin, Cork & Waterford). You will own tenders from enquiry to submission within established estimating teams and collaborate with engineering, planning, procurement and commercial colleagues to secure competitive outcomes.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of estimating experience in main contractors or specialist engineering contractors, with strong ability to interpret drawings

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in estimating for civil/infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Experience preparing subcontractor and supplier enquiries and evaluating quotations.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, drawings, specs and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for civil/infrastructure projects.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and develop Bills of Quantities.
• Prepare subcontractor and supplier enquiries and assess quotations.
• Collaborate with engineering, planning, procurement and commercial teams during tender.
• Review project scope, programme and commercial risks.
• Manage tender documentation, clarifications and client correspondence.
• Support tender submissions and handover to project delivery teams.
• Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.

The Opportunity

We are working with leading engineering and construction contractors across Ireland and are looking to speak with experienced Senior Estimators for upcoming opportunities across major civil, energy and infrastructure projects.

These roles offer the opportunity to work within established estimating teams, taking ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to submission across a strong pipeline of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Preparing detailed and competitive cost estimates for civil and infrastructure projects.
• Carrying out quantity take-offs and developing Bills of Quantities.
• Preparing subcontractor and supplier enquiries and assessing returned quotations.
• Working closely with engineering, planning, procurement and commercial teams throughout the tender process.
• Reviewing project scope, programme and potential commercial risks.
• Managing tender documentation, clarifications and client correspondence.
• Supporting tender submissions and handover to project delivery teams.
• Attending pre-tender and post-tender meetings where required.

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience, ideally within a main contractor or specialist engineering contractor.
• Strong experience across civil engineering, infrastructure, energy, utilities or power projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Experience preparing subcontractor and supplier enquiries and evaluating quotations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience across T&D, substations, renewables or major civil infrastructure would be advantageous.
