Job summary

Global Professional Consultants in Ireland is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for a major public realm and civil infrastructure project in North Dublin/Meath. The role reports to the Contracts Manager/Director and requires strong site-based experience, with the ability to lead engineering activities, site teams, subcontractors, programme and delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Level 8 QQI) or international equivalent.
• 8+ years post-graduate experience in civil engineering.
• 3+ years in a project management or senior site management role.
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction contracts (GCCC, NEC3/4, RIAI or equivalent).
• Proficiency with Asta Powerproject or similar software.

Job description

A Senior Engineer is required for a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a major public realm and civic infrastructure project in North Dublin/Meath. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a growing organisation and take a senior role in the successful delivery of high-quality civil engineering works across a busy project environment.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager / Contracts Director, the successful candidate will have strong project and site-based experience within civil engineering or construction and will be confident managing engineering activities, site teams, subcontractors, programme, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support the delivery of daily site operations across civil engineering works
• Coordinate multidisciplinary site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Monitor project progress, programme, quality, and resources
• Support the Contracts Manager / Director in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Manage and monitor construction programmes using Asta Powerproject or equivalent
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
• Support the management of construction contracts and project documentation
• Assist with resolving technical, construction, programme, and contractual issues
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and H&S requirements
• Maintain accurate project records and provide regular progress updates to senior management

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline at Level 8 (QQI) or internationally recognised equivalent
• Minimum 8 years' post-graduate experience in civil engineering, with at least 3 years in a project management or senior site management role
• Proven track record of delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects on time and within budget
• Strong working knowledge of Irish construction contracts, including GCCC, NEC3/4, RIAI, or equivalent
• Proficiency in Asta Powerproject or equivalent programme management software
• Experience managing multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors
• Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Full clean driving licence
• Legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland

Salary & Benefits:
