Job summary

Johnson Controls in Dublin, Ireland, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the electrical performance of air-cooled chiller components for the European market, directing design and verification.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with production, lab, service, and marketing teams across Europe, and lead new product development programs while ensuring compliance with CE and EN/IEC standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of electrical design and project experience.
• Working knowledge of European electrical directives and standards (CE marking, Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, Machinery Directive) and harmonized IEC/EN standards.
• Proficient in electrical design, able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product.
• Proficient at organizing and processing large amounts of data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the team technically.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, primarily within Europe.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical performance of air-cooled chiller components and systems engineered for the European market.
• Provide technical direction and support to production, laboratory, service, applications, and marketing teams across Europe.
• Mentor less-experienced electrical engineers, application engineers, designers, and factory operations.
• Take a leading role in new and exciting product development programs.
• Define electrical specifications for features and products, and prepare, check, and coordinate release of documentation.
• Coordinate and help execute test programs to validate electrical performance and reliability.
