Job summary

Johnson Controls in Dublin, Ireland is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support European air-cooled chiller engineering. You will perform electrical power and control panel design, ensure CE compliance, and develop documentation for released designs.

You will collaborate with production, laboratory, service, and marketing teams across Europe, contribute to new product programs, mentor junior staff, and help validate electrical performance through tests and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
• Working knowledge of European electrical directives and standards (CE marking, Low Voltage, EMC, Machinery)
• Proficient in electrical design and capable of turning concepts into product
• Ability to organize and process large data sets
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 10%, mainly within Europe

Responsibilities

• Design detailed electrical power and control panels, VSDs, and harnesses per CE directives and EN/IEC standards
• Work under supervision to implement design ideas and document releases
• Plan and manage own project activities and deliverables
• Prepare product specifications and coordinate documentation release
• Support and mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Report status of work and team members to project group with clear communication
• Contribute to test programs to validate electrical performance and troubleshoot issues
• Help ensure on-time completion of projects and select suitable components
• Continuously deepen expertise in chiller electrical design and process improvements
• Apply standard technical and mathematical principles to engineering drawings and BOMs
• Adhere to Code of Conduct and company standards
