Job summary

Johnson Controls in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the European air-cooled chiller engineering organization. The role involves electrical analysis, detailed design, and control, contributing to new product development across Europe.

You will design electrical power and control panels, assist production and service teams, and help validate performance through tests, while expanding expertise in chiller electrical design and applicable standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in a related field.
• Working knowledge of European electrical directives and standards (CE marking, Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, Machinery Directive) and harmonized IEC/EN standards.
• Proficient in electrical design, able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product.
• Able to organize and process large amounts of data.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, primarily within Europe.

Responsibilities

• Complete detailed electrical design of power panels, control panels, VSDs and wire harnesses per CE marking directives and EN/IEC standards.
• Work under supervision to translate ideas into product designs and documentation.
• Plan own project activities and deliver detailed designs.
• Write product specifications and release design documentation.
• Support application engineers, designers, factory operations, marketing and service teams; mentor junior staff.
• Communicate status of work clearly to project team and stakeholders.
