Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Product Engineer in Dublin, Ireland to own mechanical design and performance of European air-cooled chiller components and systems. You will lead design changes, mentor junior engineers, and drive new product development under minimal supervision.

You will apply EU codes (CE, PED, Machinery Directive) and standards (EN 378, EN 14511) while collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to optimize cost, performance, and reliability across Europe.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of mechanical design and project experience.
• Strong understanding of fluid and thermal principles.
• Working knowledge of CE marking, PED, Machinery Directive, EN 378.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to represent the team.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%, primarily within Europe.
• Proficiency in mechanical design and data processing.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design and performance of air-cooled chiller components and systems engineered for the European market.
• Lead design changes and mentor engineers.
• Define specifications for features and generate and review technical documentation.
• Coordinate test programs to validate performance and reliability of mechanical systems.
• Work with design and manufacturing teams to balance cost, performance, and reliability.
• Adhere to CE marking, PED, Machinery Directive, EN 378 and EN 14511 standards.
