Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Principal Product Engineer for our Dublin, Ireland location, focusing on European air-cooled chiller systems. You will lead mechanical design, testing, data analysis, and project management to deliver high-performance products.

You will mentor Engineers and collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure compliant, reliable solutions across Europe. Travel up to 10% within Europe is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field; MS preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience with product releases.
• Strong understanding of fluid and thermal principles.
• Working knowledge of CE marking, PED, Machinery Directive, EN 378 and EN 14511.
• Proficient in mechanical design and turning ideas into products.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading design teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% within Europe.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical design and performance of air-cooled chiller components and systems for Europe.
• Act as technical leader for projects and design team; mentor engineers.
• Coordinate test programs; validate performance and reliability.
• Prepare and review technical documentation for cross-functional teams.
• Balance cost, performance, and reliability with design teams and manufacturing.
