Job summary

Toast is seeking a Software Engineer to lead the Technical Operations data platform. You will own architecture, build data pipelines and integrations, and partner with product to deliver end-to-end solutions in a hybrid Dublin setting.

You will mentor engineers, apply AI-driven workflows, and ensure reliable, auditable reporting used by executives and teams. This is a hands-on role at Toast where innovation and collaboration shape the hospitality tech landscape.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with production data pipelines.
• Strong track record delivering end-to-end data platform projects.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modelling; experience with Python, Kotlin or TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical direction of the data platform and internal tools.
• Design and build data pipelines and integrations to bring signals into a unified data warehouse.
• Partner with Product Owner to identify opportunities and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Build the back-end for role-based reporting on engineering health, AI spend, and ROI, replacing manual processes with durable tools.
• Own quality, reliability, and operational monitoring for critical reporting used by leadership.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and raise the team’s capabilities through design reviews.
• Leverage AI tools to improve development workflow and accelerate velocity.
