Job summary

Toast in Dublin is seeking a senior software engineer to lead the Technical Operations data platform and internal tooling, partnering with product and finance to deliver scalable analytics and cost signals. You will design data pipelines, build production-grade data contracts, mentor peers, and apply agentic AI tooling to improve velocity and reliability in a hybrid Dublin-based role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with data pipelines or analytics platforms.
• Proven ability to drive large projects from design to rollout.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills; proficient in Python, Kotlin, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on use of agentic engineering and AI tooling in daily work.
• Experience integrating third-party systems and designing clear data contracts.
• Ability to partner with finance, operations, and leadership to deliver reliable technical solutions.
• Self-starter with bias toward action in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for data platform architecture and direction.
• Design/build data pipelines and integrations to a unified data warehouse.
• Partner with Product Owner to identify opportunities and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Build back-end for role-based reporting on engineering health, AI spend, ROI, and capitalization.
• Own quality, reliability, and operational monitoring for critical reporting.
• Mentor engineers and raise the team's skill through design reviews.
• Leverage AI tools to improve development velocity and productivity.
