Job summary

Toast in Dublin is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the T-REX team, owning the reporting and analytics layer that translates restaurant data into actionable insights.

You will design robust APIs (GraphQL/REST), build scalable backend services in Kotlin/Java, collaborate across data, product, and AI teams, and contribute to AI-native features while delivering real value for Toast customers.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering skills in Kotlin/Java with testing and quality
• Experience designing APIs and frameworks that other teams depend on
• Experience with GraphQL and REST API design
• Comfortable working on AI-native features and cross-team integrations
• Ability to translate complex business problems into clean, usable solutions
• Use of AI tooling as part of your workflow
• Focus on building for the user and ensuring usefulness
