Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to modernise and transform foundational enterprise services with a focus on Linux, cloud platforms, automation and cloud-native architectures. You will design and implement scalable, highly available infrastructure and tooling across large-scale environments.

The role emphasizes infrastructure automation, IaC practices, and collaboration with engineering teams to drive resilience and cloud adoption, while supporting migration programmes

Qualifications

• Strong Linux systems administration and engineering experience.
• Public cloud experience in AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code expertise.
• Container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Automation and scripting using Python, Go or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Modernise critical infrastructure services and support migration programmes.
• Design, build and maintain highly available cloud-hosted platforms.
• Support containerisation initiatives across internal services and tooling.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code and automation best practices.
• Develop operational tooling and deployment workflows.
• Improve platform resilience, observability and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to evolve infrastructure toward scalable cloud-native architectures.
• Provide technical leadership across infrastructure transformation projects.
