Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to modernise and transform foundational enterprise services with a focus on Linux, cloud platforms, automation and cloud-native architectures. You will design and implement scalable, highly available infrastructure and tooling across large-scale environments.

The role emphasizes infrastructure automation, IaC practices, and collaboration with engineering teams to drive resilience and cloud adoption, while supporting migration programmes

Qualifications

• Strong Linux systems administration and engineering experience.
• Public cloud experience in AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code expertise.
• Container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Automation and scripting using Python, Go or similar languages.

11 Months PAYE Contract with strong possibility of conversion in Permanent.

An opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to help modernise and transform foundational enterprise services that underpin large-scale technology environments.

This role combines deep infrastructure engineering with modern cloud technologies, making it ideal for candidates who understand both traditional infrastructure and cloud-native platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Modernise critical infrastructure services and support migration programmes

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Strong Linux systems administration and engineering experience
• Public cloud experience within AWS, Azure or GCP
• Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code expertise
• Container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
• Automation and scripting using Python, Go or similar languages
• CI/CD pipeline implementation and management experience
• Understanding of networking and enterprise infrastructure services
• Experience supporting highly available production environments

Preferred

• Experience migrating workloads from virtualised environments into public cloud
• Knowledge of service networking, DNS, identity or authentication platforms
• Exposure to Platform Engineering principles
• Experience within large-scale enterprise or technology environments
• Crossplane or Kubernetes platform engineering experience
