Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Senior Civil Estimator to lead detailed civil estimates for water and wastewater projects in Ireland. You will develop robust tender submissions, assess buildability, and provide cost guidance throughout the design and tender stages.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years’ civil estimating experience in relevant sectors, with proven ability to deliver accurate, competitive costings for major municipal programmes. A strong command of estimating tools and MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil estimating within the water, wastewater or related infrastructure sectors.
• Proven track record in developing accurate, competitive civil estimates for complex treatment plant projects.
• Experience working with public utility clients including Uisce Éireann or UK water companies is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and numerical capability with exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed, accurate civil estimates based on drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Ensure estimates reflect realistic construction risk, align with governance and standards.
• Engage during design development to assess buildability, installation methods and material choices.
• Provide early stage cost guidance during tendering to support optioneering and value for money.
• Development of Target Cost Submissions and Construction programmes.
• Work with design and discipline leads to prepare staff schedules and resource plans.
• Procurement planning: identify suppliers, negotiate terms and evaluate quotations.
• Maintain up-to-date understanding of sector developments and market trends.
