Job summary

ESB is seeking an experienced IT professional to join the AMI & Comms team in Dublin. The role focuses on 24x7 support, stability, and value realization across a complex tech environment, including integration with SAP and MDMS. Hybrid working with in-office presence required.

You will help maintain and improve critical applications, lead incident response, and collaborate on releases, DR testing, and automation initiatives within ESB’s Smart Metering domain.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in ESB IT services, infrastructure, and enterprise technologies.
• Knowledge of the Utility Industry application landscape and integration architectures.
• Experience with Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Strong incident management, troubleshooting, and software implementation skills.
• Experience with change control processes and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated team player with strong organisational skills and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Maintain availability, performance and security of critical applications; collaborate with ESB CISO.
• Troubleshoot incidents to ensure high customer satisfaction and service continuity.
• Support releases, patching, upgrades, change requests and disaster recovery activities including failover tests.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver new applications and transfer knowledge to support teams.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities and service enhancements across the application landscape.
• Work with internal stakeholders, external vendors and support teams to deliver end-to-end services.
• Participate in on-call and out-of-hours support as required.
