Job summary

Club Spraoi is seeking a Play Leader for our location at Gaelscoil Droichead na Banndan, Bandon, Co. Cork. This role is part-time and involves supporting the afterschool care programme for children aged 4–12, with a focus on safe play and engaging activities.

You will plan creative activities, encourage social development, and work within school policies. The position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience with children and may benefit from First Aid and Child Protection training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in working with children.
• First Aid Certificate an advantage
• Child Protection training an advantage
• QQI Level 6 in Early Childhood Care & Education / Montessori an advantage

Responsibilities

Position: Play Leader

Duties of the Role:

• To assist in the day to day organisation and running of the Afterschool Care Programme, providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4-12 years old in a safe and secure environment.
• Planning and implementing creative and exciting activities and play opportunities for the children.
• Supporting children in social, emotional, physical development. Conflict resolution / behaviour management.
• Working within the framework of the Club’s and school’s policies and procedures.

Requirements for the role:

• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in working with children
• First Aid Certificate an advantage
• Child Protection training an advantage
• QQI Level 6 in Early Childhood Care & Education / Montessori an advantage

Hours:

9- 16 hours per week, between the hours of 1:30pm and 6pm- Monday to Friday

Job Types: Part-time

Salary €15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Two references will be required and the successful applicant will be subject to Garda Vetting.
